Lake Eyasi nearby the Southern West fringe of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the salty, sometimes dry Lake is rammed by the steep wall of the ancient Eyasi Rift. The area around Lake Eyasi is inhabited by the Hadzabe tribe (also called the Datoga). This ancient tribe is believed to have arrived in the area more than 300 years ago after subsequently forced out of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro by the Maasai. Their language (Nilo-Hamitic) is vaguely similar to that of the San Bushmen of South Africa. In this area are also found the Iraqw (called Wambulu) tribe of Cushitic origin.
Once at the Crater we will do a wonderful game drive with packed lunch boxes and served at the hippo pool picnic site. Today we have great opportunity to see animals such as: hyenas, silver backed jackals, elands, hartebeests, wildebeests, gazelles, impalas as well as rare ungulates like the long necked ; gerenuks. Later in the afternoon we ascend up the Crater walls and drive back to Arusha.
Tarangire National Park boasts of accommodating the highest density of elephants in northern Tanzania which you can view year around. Sometimes the number reaches beyond 300 in total. The Tarangire River has water all year round and during the dry season, between July and October, the river attracts many animals from the surrounding areas to come for drinking.
When visit Tarangire national park you have big chance to witness an unforgettable natural wonder as you can observe wonderful creatures such as lions, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests and zebras as well as various types of antelopes and gazelles and when you are very lucky, you can also spot a python. This area is during the dry season also a haven for bird watchers with over 550 different species including the Maasai Ostrich -the world largest bird. At the end of this day, you will be taken back to your hotel in Arusha.
Lake Manyara is a lovely scenic park on the road from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Crater, famous for its tree climbing lions, flamingos, pelicans and cormorants but it is also the home for a few hundred other species of birds; it is therefore a heaven for ornithologists. Next to a great variety of birds, it is a great play ground for the “Big Game”. At the end of this afternoon we drive back to Arusha and drop you at your hotel.
They are an extraordinary phenomenon, rushing up from underground in the middle of parched and dusty landscape. Locally called Chemka, meaning boiling, this refers to the way in which the water appears to boil as it emerges from underground.
This is a good place to visit for a picnic and a swim too. And the views of Kilimanjaro on a clear day are also fabulous. The crystal-clear, turquoise waters surrounded by palm trees and winding roots offer a picturesque spot for a relaxing afternoon swim. After lunch at the springs then we drive to Kilimanjaro airport for your next flight home.
At the waterfall, you will have lunch and if you fancy you may take a plunge in the refreshing waters of the waterfall. In the afternoon, you will be driven to the village of Mamba. This small village is famous for its caves, which were once used to hide the women and children for weeks during the Chagga – Masai wars.
Late in the afternoon, we will drop you at the airport or taking you back to your hotel. The rest of the evening is relaxing and dinner at Cottages house at TPC. End of our third day.
