OVERVIEW

Tanzania is blessed with amazing wilderness destinations that break the world records for the lifetime unforgettable safaris. Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater are popular world major draw cards that depict amazing natural phenomena that occur in the world. Apart from the wilderness safari, the edges of Indian Ocean provide spectacular beaches for swimming, surfing and boating activities mainly at Zanzibar Island. Options for a Zanzibar beach holiday are many, but broadly, the island can be divided into five, Nungwi in the north, the east coast, the south-east, the west coast, and a few offshore islands. This 8 days holiday safari is designed to suit your desire for experiencing both Tanzania wilderness safari together with beach fans. This tour will start at Arusha whereby our guide will receive you at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Then drive you head to Arusha Safari lodge for dinner and overnight. Then the tour will end in Dar Es salaam, Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere International Airport.

8 DAYS NORTHERN CIRCUIT WILDERNESS SAFARI & ZANZIBAR BEACH HOLIDAY

DAY 1: ARUSHA TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Start our safari itinerary early in the morning, getting hot breakfast at Arusha safari lodge, and then depart to Serengeti national park the Maasai endless plain. The park gate is 335kms from Arusha town about 6-7 hours to be taken. Serengeti National Park is undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequalled for its natural beauty and scientific value. It has the highest concentration of plains game among all African countries which includes more than two million wildebeest, half a million Thomson’s gazelle, and quarter of a million of zebras. The wildebeest and zebra take part in the spectacular Serengeti migration.

DAY 2: FULL DAY GAME DRIVE SERONERA

Early in the morning, rise up for the fresh morning game drive at the heart of Serengeti, Seronera. With high density of leopards, cheetahs, and lions, this is resident game of this place is phenomenal which prey on the herbivores resident of this park. The Great Migration pass through here in April and May. Seronera which is easily accessible from the Southern Plains and Western Corridor is a good base to see the migration.


DAY 3: SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO CRATER

Rise early morning after breakfast, enjoy the half day game drive at Seronera then depart to Ngorongoro crater for another amazing game drive in the world largest crater. Ngorongoro crater is about 145kms in distance from Serengeti park gate, barely 3-4 hours consumed. Reach at Ngorongoro in the evening then straight to Lemala tented camp for dinner and overnight stay, preparation for tomorrow amazing game drive inside the crater.


DAY 4: GAME DRIVE AT NGORONGORO CRATER TO ARUSHA

The Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtakingly beautiful setting and the best place in Tanzania to see the Big Five. However, as one of the world’s most astonishing and renowned natural wonders, the Ngorongoro Crater does get busy, and at times very busy. A minimum of two nights is recommended due to heavy crowd. Black rhinos and largest tusker elephants are the signature animals of this park which are found in healthy numbers. Beside them, the crater is also home to fair population of lion, leopard, hyena along with herds of wildebeest, buffalo, and zebra. Other wildlife here includes serval cat, cheetah, jackal, Grant’s and Thompson’s gazelle, flamingo and bat-eared foxes, as well as approximately 400 species of bird. Stay only here, then moving on to the Serengeti for a quieter, more private safari experience. Around 5pm we leaving Ngorongoro heading to Arusha safari lodge.


DAY 5: ARUSHA TO ZANZIBAR VIA DAR-ES-SALAAM

In the morning after breakfast, depart for beach holiday safari at the spice island of Zanzibar. The guide will drop you to Kilimanjaro International Airport then take a flight to Zanzibar airport. Our driver will meet you at Zanzibar Airport and transfer to the Magical beach of Nungwi (North Coast). The Swahili culture was born there in the seventh century. Stone Town is the ideal place “to feel” the atmosphere, and soul of Zanzibar. Elegant trader’s houses, old coral stone buildings set behind large carved doors, some with Koranic inscriptions in Arabic, narrow alleyways with covered balconies, wonderful shops, and tiny stalls, spice and fish market, and in the evening sounds and smells from the Forodhani Gardens where fish and lobster are grilled on barbecues. Zanzibar is known as the Spice Islands. A guided tour to spice farms and plantations is an option here. Zanzibar is an idyllic beach holiday island, sandy white beaches, and clear blue waters are among the best in the world.


DAY 6: ZANZIBAR BEACH VACATION

The whole day will be spent relaxing at the beautiful Zanzibar beach. All meals and overnight will be at Next paradise boutique resort in a luxury beach front bungalow (the lodge organizes activities like diving, snorkeling, village tour and others that you can book directly from the lodge and pay them).


DAY 7: ZANZIBAR SPICE PLANTATIONS AND DOLPHIN TOUR

After breakfast visit spice plantations to learn about African spices (Zanzibar spices are very famous in the world). You will then do a tour in Prison Island to see the oldest turtles in East Africa. You will also do a Dolphin tour then heading the beach for swimming before you return to Boutique hotel for dinner and overnight.


DAY 8: SHORT VACATION TO ZANZIBAR AIRPORT

After breakfast, we will transfer you to Zanzibar airport and you will fly to Dar es Salaam to connect your international flight and return home. There are flights from Zanzibar to Dart es Salaam almost every two hours, therefore, your departure time from Zanzibar will mostly depend on your international flight connecting time.
